The highly anticipated unveiling of Saks Fifth Avenue’s iconic holiday windows is finally here!
Brace yourselves for the Midtown tradition that’ll officially commence as of today, Monday, November 23, hosted by Saks President & CEO Marc Metrick along with a celebrity co-host. The wondrous window displays that Saks Fifth Avenue creates each year will be unveiled, and this year the window reveal will present 20 individual ceremonies up until December 23.
The theme “This is How We Celebrate,” has been inspired by all the many ways people celebrate the holidays with their loved ones. “The center six windows showcase how different people celebrate in iconic settings around the city, with each over-the-top celebration scene bringing a different quintessential New York moment to life,” said a recent press release.
You can livestream each separate ceremony on Saks.com starting tonight.
Celebrities, designers, and “New York City notables” will take on the job of activating each unveil from inside the very windows! Through supporting a charity of each personality’s choice, Saks Fifth Avenue will donate a total of $100,000 this holiday season.
In addition, the 11th annual light show, presented by Mastercard, will start tonight. Subsequent events can be streamed on select weekdays at 4:30 p.m. through December 23rd and recordings can be viewed through January 3, 2021. Viewers across the world are even able to holiday shop at the Saks New York Flagship through the streaming platform.
Chief Marketing Officer of Saks Fifth Avenue, Emily Essner told fashionista “This is something that we believe is really important. We take our role in New York City very seriously, and we very much believe that New York City is the greatest city on Earth and that, as it is our hometown, it’s absolutely our responsibility to do everything that we can to support it.”
No matter the obstacles that 2020 has brought about for the team at Saks Fifth Avenue, they have been working nonstop since the unveiling of last year’s windows and taken each difficulty in stride. Though they transitioned into remote working like everyone else, the crew stayed determined to bring New York City their very own gift of the season.
The first dazzling holiday window reveal ceremony will be this evening, November 23, at 7 p.m. and you can livestream the event from home!
