As we count down the days until holiday season kicks it into high gear, we can’t help but think about all of the best things to do in the city, from magical concerts to ice skating! We all know and love how much of a festive wonderland NYC becomes, and that includes the elaborate window displays across different storefronts. From nutcrackers to candy canes, here are some of the most stunning holiday window displays that you’ve got to check out this year!
1. Saks Fifth Avenue

Now on view: One of the most famous NYC stores, Saks Fifth Avenue, has just unveiled their 2024 holiday windows, despite cancelling their iconic light show. This year’s windows reflect the store’s campaign “Gifts of Delight.”
2. Macy’s Herald Square
Now on view: Macy’s stunning window display is featuring items like festive wrapping paper and champagne glasses, a toy workshop and a three-dimensional camera! Macy’s expects to see at least 10,000 visitors to the windows each day, with even more visiting the store and the famous Santaland on the 8th floor.
3. Bloomingdale’s
Now on view: Bloomingdale’s Wicked Good Holiday campaign for the 2024 holiday season has debuted in collaboration with Universal Pictures to celebrate the brand new Wicked movie! The store launched a “Wicked Good Holiday pop-up” on November 7th with themed goods and immersive in-store experiences…as well as a Wicked-theme window display!
The launch event that night featured performances from Broadway stars, an 8-piece orchestra playing instrumental medleys from the film’s soundtrack, and so much more!
4. Bergdorf Goodman
Now on view: Bergdorf Goodman has brought back another beautiful window display for the holidays, just one year after last year’s “Isn’t it Brilliant” theme. The 2024 initiative “Toast of the Town” is celebrating NYC’s glamour and grandeur. To further mark Fifth Avenue’s historic 200th birthday, each one of the nine Bergdorf windows will showcase a specific moment in the avenue’s history.
5. Cartier
Now on view: Although you may not be shopping for new jewelry, you should still stop by Cartier during holiday season to see their jaw-dropping displays, often times featuring their beautiful accessories. Their flagship on the corner of 5th Ave is decorated head-to-toe with out-of-this-world lights, and their windows match the part. Be sure to stop by and snap a photo in front of their illuminated windows!
6. FAO Schwarz
Late November: This toy store is not only perfect for getting your holiday shopping, but also boasts cute eye candy that will give your shopping list some inspiration. From nutcrackers to stuffed animals, FAO Schwarz and its assortment of toys on display is not only just a kid’s dream, but one for everybody!
7. Nordstrom
Now on view: Nordstrom NYC’s decorations have returned, adorning the seven-level flagship in bright pops of color for a festive winter wonderland. This year’s campaign and display, The Blizz on 57th Street, features a cast of larger-than-life inflatable characters voiced by the legendary filmmaker and actor John Waters and the unmistakable voice of actress Fran Drescher. These inflatables are inspired by iconic fictional New York City staples and characters like Dimmy & Quaser, Ruby & Violet, plus more.
8. David Yurman
Now on view: Jewelry store David Yurman will once again transform the windows of their 57th Street Flagship boutique location into a wintry spectacle for the holidays! Inspired by the brand’s perennial inspiration and home of New York City, the display will feature iconic NYC landmarks dazzled in the way only a jeweler can!
9. Raising Cane’s
Now on view: Raising Cane’s chicken shop has decked out their front windows for the season once again, featuring the iconic yellow Labrador mascot, Cane III, as she “raises a little cane” and playfully steals Santa Clause’s hat. There’s also 30+ unique elves, an 18’ light up acrylic Christmas tree, 500+ individually hand painted crinkle-cut fries, 20 pounds of glitter, and a whole lot more!
Where: 1501 Broadway
10. Shoppe Balloo
This cute children’s clothing store in West Village fits the holiday vibe of the neighborhood and beyond with their festive windows! Complete with tons of pine bristles and Christmas lights, you can catch a glimpse of Shoppe Balloo’s latest apparel collection and home goods!
Where: 353 Bleecker St
10. Louis Vuitton
OK, we’ll say it: due to the construction process, the Louis Vuitton flagship on 5th Avenue does not currently have any windows. However, since the building’s facade has been boarded up to look like the brand’s signature luggage trunk, it’s using this opportunity to create a different type of holiday experience.
Until Christmas Day, “The Louis Vuitton Visual Symphony” will run from 5 to 10pm nightly, with four-minute shows that repeat every half hour. Expect a menagerie decked out in holiday hats gliding across the snow, all while the brand’s emblem imitates flurries cascading down. So yes, it might not technically be a “window” we figured you’d like us to bend the rules for this holiday beaut!
