The first cherry blossoms are officially in bloom right now in NYC, but those aren’t the only colorful florals we’ll be able to see! This Sunday on April 7th, NYC will celebrate its first-ever Tulip Day as 200,000 tulips will beautify Union Square.
According to a press release, the colorful spring event will be held by Royal Anthos, an organization that represents flower and tree agriculture around the world, and the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in New York.
All are welcome to join in on the Tulip Day celebrations to snap some photos and even pick their own bouquet of ten tulips for free!
Mark-Jan Terwindt, Managing Director at Royal Anthos, stated:
We’re overjoyed to share the beauty and excitement of the many tulip varieties with New Yorkers for this one-day event.
Tulip Day is taking place on Sunday April 7th, at Union Square between 11:30am and 3pm. Advanced tickets are sold out, but there will be a limited amount of tickets available on site as a walk-ins.
