Holland Ridge Farms, located about an hour and ten minutes from NYC in Cream Ridge, New Jersey, brings that tulip magic to the tri-state area.
The farm was started by the Jansen family, whose patriarch immigrated to the U.S. from Holland in 1964. He learned how to grow tulip bulbs properly from his own father, and brought that knowledge right to NJ. Then in 2017 his family purchased 153 acres of farmland that they transformed into a U-Pick tulip farm for the public to enjoy.
Now, every year, visitors can take in beautiful, vibrant fields filled with millions of tulips, and it’s set to open for the 2024 spring season this April.
They’re open seven days a week, rain or shine, for all of your enjoyment! You’ll want to be quick though, because they only bloom for about 2-3 weeks.
Plus, beyond the tulips, food trucks also post up at the farm, and include bites such as empanadas, BBQ, seafood, Mexican eats, and more!
Over the years, the farm has doubled in size, now with over 8 million tulips across 300 acres of land, so we can’t wait for this season’s fun to begin!
Tickets are not sold at the farm, so you have to reserve them in advance here, which are $13 per person over 3 years of age. There are six time slots each day you can choose from, and there are always food trucks on hand so you can make a day of it (and get plenty of gorgeous photos!).
You can also pick as many flowers as you want (they provide plastic buckets) for $1 per stem. The farm is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The fun doesn’t end in the spring though–they also have sunflowers in the fall!
