Since the near year is officially here and winter is well underway, we’re already thinking of ways to brighten up our lives…like a little pop of colorful flowers! Especially with Valentine’s Day around the corner, we’re already thinking about lovely florists around NYC to buy some good flowers. From a simple bouquets to custom pieces, there’s so much to choose from, and these are our favorite flower shops right now!
1. Sunny’s Florist, East Village
Although store owner Sunny is now retired, the legendary flower shop in the East Village lives on…and you may even see her stop around here and there! All the bouquets cut here are absolutely beautiful and the quality is superb for the price! Now owned by her niece Alice Pi, you can still by the most beautiful bundles starting at $15!

2. Scott’s Flowers, Midtown
Scotts Flowers has been in business since 1947. They get their products from both locally sourced and eco-friendly farms and vendors from across the world. They do weddings, corporate events and cut bouquets as well.

3. Ode à la Rose, Long Island City
This quaint artisan boutique is located right in the heart of LIC, where floral enthusiasts can shop the most elegant flowers in the borough. Many of their stunning NYC bouquets are named after women’s first names, possibly adding a bit of personal touch for the giving of the special present. 4. Le Bouquet, East Village
How about a cute little flower shop in front of a bar? Le Bouquet NY sits right in front of the East Village’s popular Korean restaurant Mono Mono. Their rustic shopfront offers lots of flower options, which you can either pick out or pre-order…then enjoy fried chicken and soju cocktails afterwards.

5. Denise Fasanello Flowers
Born and raised here in NYC, Denise Fasanello has been operating her fantastic Brooklyn floral studio since 2009. A fine artist at heart, she uses her unique eye to whip up the most stunning bouquets, mainly incorporating wildflowers and rustic elements. This spot usually does more of service-based flower work for special events and weddings, but you can stop by and chat with her to see if she’s got something for you too! Learn more here.

6. Dutch Flower Line, Chelsea & LIC
Grouped into now The New York Flower Group, this florist aims to provide the “new standard” of excellence in flowers. They have three different locations around NYC, including 2 in Manhattan and a brand new 30,000 square foot Long Island City location. Flowers arrive fresh cut daily here, and range in price and type.

7. Fox Fodder Farm, Williamsburg
This contemporary floral design studio and flower shop in Williamsburg began in 2011 by Taylor Patterson and is one of Brooklyn’s best. Their seasonal, and typically local flowers are sold by the stem, as well as select plants and a collection of objects like vessels, scents, soaps, and more. Stop by their shop, order them for delivery, join their subscription, and even sign up for their events an installations!

8. Flower Girl NYC, Chelsea
Flower Girl NYC was founded in 2004 by Denise Porcaro Tupper and has flourished ever since. They focus on seasonally available, whimsical arrangements as well as their widely popular flower crowns. They also give floral design workshops for other professionals which are extremely popular.

9. Rosecrans Florist & Cafe, Greenwich Village
Flower shop and café combined, Rosecrans is less of a traditional florist and more of a flowery hangout! Sip on a cup of coffee while you take in all of the stunning flowers and plants around you for sale. 10. Brooklyn Blooms
Brooklyn Blooms is a black-owned floral shop off Nostrand Avenue, founded by floral artist LaParis Phillips. She weaves flowers into shear masterpieces, combining textures and colors to create sensational pieces of art.
