Following the announcement of a tennis court opening in Times Square, comes another pop-up court set to take over Center Plaza at Rockefeller Center, beginning this week!
Though the court will appear on Thursday, August 24th, it will officially open to the public on August 28th through September 1st. Passersby will be able to take to the court and play a match at one of NYC’s most famous destinations. Players can reserve a time slot on the court here.
Throughout its week-long takeover, onlookers can catch professionals in action that are rumored to make an appearance on the court.
Rockefeller Center’s temporary tennis court is possible thanks to lifestyle brand and tennis magazine, Racquet. They have appeared at London’s SW19 in celebration of Wimbledon, the Silvertop Residence in Los Angeles, the Palais de Tokyo in Paris ahead of Roland Garros 2023, and previously at Rockefeller Center with their inaugural NYC pop-up in 2022.
The pop-up is happening in conjunction with the start of the US Open, the most famous international tennis tournament, that takes place at the U.S. Tennis Association Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, Queens. Tennis legends will compete within the five categories from Monday, August 28th through Sunday, September 10th. Catch all of the matches at one of these NYC spots.
Plus, don’t forget that US Open Fan Week is ongoing from Tuesday, August 22 to Sunday, August 27th.
