As we soar–seemingly at the speed of light–our way through August, we’ve all got our eye on our fav end of summer sporting event–the US Open! And while NYC is endlessly gearing up to celebrate the tournament, organizing watch parties and organizing the US Open Fan Week, a first-of-its-kind US Open waterside experience has been announced.
New York City’s first floating tennis court is popping up for one day only this September, allowing NYers to sit “courtside” while watching the Men’s Final.
Dubbed SS evian, the court–which is pretty in pink and gives us total Barbie vibes–will cruise along the Hudson River on the legendary Circle Line on Sunday, September 10.
Guests who hop aboard will have the chance to watch the Men’s Final, hydrate with evian (the official water of the US Open), and be the first to sit courtside on a floating tennis court!
The ship’s caption will be none other than former US Open champion Maria Sharapova, who will offer attendees exclusive insights into the match.
Plus, one lucky guest will get the unique opportunity to volley with Sharapova on board and win two tickets to the 2024 US Open (all who purchase a ticket will be entered and the winner will be randomly selected and notified via email prior to the event).
A limited amount of tickets are currently on sale, and more will be released on August 22nd, August 29th, and September 5th at 9 a.m. Tickets include complimentary cocktails, wine, and beer, classic lobster rolls, and passed hors d’oeuvres.
Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Billion Oyster Project.
