One perk of spring in the city is the return of many mouthwatering outdoor food festivals, from Smorgasburg to Japan Fes.. But one event we’re particularly excited for has to be Philippines Fest heading to Brooklyn this May.
Philippines Fest is NYC’s premier Filipino street festival. It will fill the streets of Park Slope (5th Avenue between 10th Street and 11th Street) on Sunday, May 19th from 10am to 6pm with handcrafted products, cultural performances and plenty of delicious food.
The street fair is helmed by a group of passionate Filipino-American small business owners set on promoting Filipino culture to the rest of the world. Though it originated in NYC, Philippines Fest now travels to states all across the country. The street fair provides Filipino artists, vendors, and performers with an opportunity to exhibit their cultural roots and gifts.
If you can’t make it to Park Slope on May 19th, Philippines Fest will offer additional fair dates through the summer as listed below:
- May 26 – Jersey City, NJ (Manila Ave 1st-5th St)
- June 8 – Brlyn Pride, Brooklyn (5th Ave 8th-9th St)
- June 15 – Smorgasburg Williamsburg
- July 21 – Times Square (7th Ave 47th – 49th St)
