If you believe precipitation is at an all-time high on Saturdays and Sundays, you’d be correct — the NYC weather forecast indicates that we’ve seen rain for the past six out of 10 weekends, and this one is no exception.
Though we’re halfway through June, the true summer weather has yet to kick in, and we’re definitely experiencing cooler and gloomier conditions than we were expecting. (The potential for beach days hasn’t been great.)
If you’re out and about this weekend, we’ll tell you what to expect weather-wise and help you plan accordingly.
NYC weather: another rainy weekend ahead
According to The Weather Channel’s 10-day forecast, grey skies and showers abound on Saturday, June 14th, with a 90% chance of rain and temperatures in the 60s — definitely not bikini weather, folks. We can expect the rain in the a.m., and a few showers in the afternoon with 85% humidity. (Time to reach for the hats because it certainly won’t be a hair day.)
We can expect some reprieve on Sunday, June 15th. There will be cloudy skies, 79% humidity, but no rain — just dreary skies. If there’s anything you’re planning to do outside, Sunday is certainly the better of the two days. But be warned: you’ll need a jacket, because temperatures are not likely to get in the 60s.
Though we’re still several days away from the summer solstice, we are a bit fearful that 2025 summer weather predictions will come to fruition. According to The Old Farmer’s Almanac, the northeast is due for a hotter, rainier season than usual. (Not cool, Mother Nature. Not cool.)

To make things sound all the more enticing, there’s a fun statistic: New York State is to receive above-average rainfall between May and August — prime summertime slots — and NYC is likely to be 40-50% higher than usual. If you’ve yet to snag an umbrella, consider this your time to act.
We’ll be sure to keep you posted as the city’s weather-related news develops. Cross your fingers that the majority of precipitation will take place during the work week.
