Over the next eight years, NYC will be building 7,500 free WiFi hubs in old pay phone booths all over the city. The first one was installed this morning. It doesn’t work yet, and we still have a long way to go until the city is completely WiFi ready (there will be 499 more installed over the next 6 months), but we can already imagine the endless possibilities of such a world. Here are 18 good things that will happen when WiFi is everywhere in NYC:
