Between the NYT releasing their list of NYC’s top 100 restaurants for 2025, Condé Nast Traveller’s 2025 Hot List uncovering which NYC newcomers are among the best new restaurants in the world, and Yelp’s Top 100 Restaurants of 2025 in which two NYC spots are featured, one thing we NYers are going to do is familiarize ourselves with which NYC restaurants are receiving the most buzz–especially when NYC is home to ~23,000 restaurants and it would take 22.7 years to eat our way through all of them! And now there’s more where that came from as the extended version of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025 list has just been revealed!
Ahead of the announcement of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025 on Thursday, June 19th, 50 Best released the extended list, which unveils the world’s best restaurants ranked between 51st and 100th, and two NYC restaurants found their way onto the list–though we’re expecting many more on the 1-50 list!
World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025, #51-100, NYC winners
Le Bernardin, Midtown (#90)

One of the most famous French restaurants in NYC (and one of our must-visits for 2025), Le Bernardin was established in Paris nearly 50 years by brother and sister Gilbert and Maguy Le Coze before expanding to NYC in 1986, where they’ve been serving authentic dishes ever since.
Though they originally only served fish, they’ve since expanded to serve one of the best seafood menus in NYC, with menu highlights including caviar tartare, seafood truffle pasta, and Japanese Wagyu.
Le Bernardin has consistently held three Michelin stars since the Michelin Guide’s New York debut in 2005, and is the cheapest three-Michelin star restaurant in the U.S. The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025 list writes:
Decorated chef Eric Ripert has run the kitchen for more than 20 years. Le Bernardin offers several menu options: a classic four-course menu; a popular vegetarian tasting menu, and a chef’s menu, featuring classics and Ripert’s own favourites. Dishes across the menus marry French and global influences, especially from Asia.

César, Hudson Square (#98)

Chef César Ramirez opened this namesake restaurant in July 2024 after 37 years of hard work and dedication–in less that 5 months of the opening he was awarded two Michelin stars (in 2011 he received his third Michelin star), so to say this restaurant is certainly doing something special is an understatement.
Being Ramirez was influenced by his great grandmother’s Spanish heritage and the rich flavors of Mexican cuisine and he often traveled to Japan to learn Japanese cuisine, the seafood-centric fine dining eatery is known for sophisticated dishes and unique combinations–some of those being Norwegian langoustine with shiso and caviar, Japanese akami tuna with tomato water dashi, and sawara with yuzu kosho. The list writes:
Opened in 2024 by chef César Ramirez, this sleek and minimalist spot in Manhattan has been making waves in a relatively short time. Born in Mexico and raised in Chicago, Ramirez moved to New York in 1998 and worked with David Bouley at Danube and Bouley, and at Chef’s Table at Brooklyn Fare. César offers a 13-course tasting menu with emphasis on seafood – featuring Chef’s iconic uni toast – blending Japanese precision with French technique and global flavours.
