With NYC’s bar scene being as fabulous as it is–with its endless watering holes serving up must-sips, from unique bars oozing with quirky vibes to hidden bars with secret entrances–it can be a bit daunting trying to figure out where to grab a drink. That’s why each year we look forward to the day that 50 Best unveils its list of must-visit bars, and the day has finally come!
North America’s 50 Best Bars 2025 have been unveiled, but for the first time ever we’re getting a look at the extended ranking, which shows #51 through #100! And from the hottest speakeasies in Albuquerque to beloved neighborhood hangouts in Victoria, there’s a lot to unpack.
As always, there’s no list without NYC, and nine neighborhood bars made the list–more than any other U.S. city–representing everywhere from the East Village to Cobble Hill.
Coming in at the #57 bar in North America is The Dead Rabbit. This beloved Irish cocktail bar is no stranger to an award and, understandably, is one of FiDi’s most sought after reservations.
The FiDi locale’s menu spans from taproom cocktails to traditional Irish fare. We suggest ordering yourself a Guinness and the all-day Irish breakfast. And, if you’re interested in pairing your drink and meal with a bit of light reading, you can travel back to the mid 1800s and find out the inspiration behind the bar’s name!

A living legend in NYC, The Dead Rabbit was brought back to life after a fire in the summer of 2018. Downstairs, the Taproom in still in its original state and acts as a no-frills pub serving up whiskies, craft beer, the (self-proclaimed) best Guinness in the city and the bar’s world-famous Irish coffee. Upstairs, Parlour is a dedicated mixology space devoted to celebrating Irish heritage through the artwork that adorns its walls, the stools that have been hand-turned in County Antrim and the prevalence of Irish spirits across its menu.
Other NYC favorites that made their way onto the list include Dante West Village (#60), The Long Island Bar (#64), Attaboy (#66), Bar Snack (#85), Shinji’s (#90), The Portrait Bar (#93), Paradise Lost (#95), Bar Contra (#98).
The World’s 50 Best Bars awards unite the global bar community in recognition of the bartenders, bar owners, and brands at the forefront of the international cocktail scene. A press release writes:
This extended list is the result of the votes cast by the voting Academy, which is comprised of more than 300 independent cocktail experts, renowned bartenders, educators and drinks writers from across the region.
The 1-50 list will be unveiled on Tuesday, April 29th, and we’re certainly curious to see which bar will take the crown–last year, NYC’s Superbueno was named #2!
