Calling all music lovers and early birds!
The weather is finally warming up in NYC, and we’re on the cusp of some of the city’s most iconic concert series. Our favorite city is a hub of arts and culture all year round, but summer is truly where it shines.
From concerts under the stars at Bryant Park and our very own music festivals, to street fairs, night markets and outdoor vintage shopping, the city comes even more alive as the days get longer.
Even better? So many of these quintessential summer experiences are completely free, making it easy to soak up the season without spending a dime.
Case in point: the 2026 Citi Concert Series on TODAY has just announced its star-studded lineup.
For those willing to set an early alarm (and maybe grab a coffee on the go), this beloved series offers fans the chance to see some of their favorite artists live, right in the heart of the city, and completely free.
There’s nothing quite like joining a crowd of fellow fans at sunrise, singing along as the city wakes up around you.

🎟️ How to Score Tickets (For Free!)
While the concerts are free and open to the public, there are two main ways to secure your spot on the plaza:
- Request a Fan Pass: This is your best bet for a close-up view! Fan Passes provide priority access to the show, letting you in ahead of the general admission line. You can request these in advance at TODAY.com/Concerts. If selected, you’ll receive an email confirmation before the show.
- General Admission: Didn’t snag a pass? Don’t worry! You can still join the general admission line on the morning of the concert. Fans are admitted on a first-come, first-served basis as space permits.
🎧 What to Know Before You Go
Attending a morning concert at Rockefeller Center is a quintessential NYC experience, but it does require a bit of early-bird spirit. Here are the essentials for a smooth morning:
- Security & Pro-Tips: You’ll pass through a security checkpoint upon arrival. Since re-entry isn’t allowed, bring some snacks and water to keep your energy up until the music starts.
- Location: The TODAY Plaza is located at 48th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues. The closest subway is the 47th-50th Sts – Rockefeller Center station (B, D, F, M).
- Arrival Time: For the best spot, aim to arrive by 5 am. While it’s an early wake-up call, the energy of the crowd and the sunrise over the plaza make it well worth the caffeine.
- The Vibe: Dress comfortably and stay camera-ready! Since the concerts happen rain or shine, check the forecast—NYC mornings can be surprisingly breezy even in July.
