Teyana Taylor is a woman of many talents–she’s a singer, songwriter, actress, dancer, choreographer, director, and certified NYC icon–and this weekend she’s adding temporary subway announcer to the resumé. For Valentine’s Day, New Yorkers riding the rails and buses will hear cheeky love-themed messages from Taylor echoing through the transit system.
The romance doesn’t stop at the speakers. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority gave the city a full Valentine’s glow-up: heart decals at Times Sq–42 St, floating hearts inside the TrainTime app, and heart-shaped stickers handed out to riders.
We don’t want to be presumptuous, but it sounds like our commute is officially flirting with us.
Fresh off her 2026 Golden Globe win, Taylor delivers PSAs with just the right mix of love and side-eye. One standout message gently roasts loud commuters: “Sure your playlist is fire, especially if you bumpin’ one of my joints, but not everybody needs to hear it so keep it in your headphones, okay? Courtesy counts.” Romantic and practical.
According to MTA Chief Customer Officer Shanifah Rieara, the agency is celebrating all weekend with themed signage, app takeovers, and announcements from the Harlem native. And if you’re on the 1, 2, 3 line, congrats–you’re officially riding the love train.
The MTA is also spotlighting real life couples who met on public transit or fell for each other while working for the authority. Each pair received a certificate and a swag bag packed with MTA goodies, proving that missed connections sometimes turn into full on love stories.
Taylor joins a pretty elite club of celebrity subway voices.
Past PSA stars include Jerry Seinfeld, Awkwafina, Kenan Thompson, and most recently Cardi B–because nothing says New York like getting life advice from a celebrity between stops.

Happy Valentine’s Day, New York 💞💋
