If your Valentine’s Day plans are currently “doomscroll Bumble and question your life choices,” cuddly cats are here to intervene.
Adoptable cats from Best Friends Animal Society are officially taking over Bumble in a first-of-its-kind campaign encouraging singles to date cats, not humans. Yes, really. Instead of awkward small talk and red flags disguised as personality traits, New Yorkers can swipe right on local rescue cats and meet a companion that actually texts back (in the form of meows).
The campaign, launched by Fresh Step and cat enthusiast Ariana Madix, is flipping modern dating on its head and turning your next match into a forever–or shall we say furever–Valentine.

Bumble users will see adoptable cats in their feed and can connect directly with Best Friends to start the adoption process. And honestly? The odds of emotional maturity are already looking better.
To sweeten the deal, Fresh Step is covering all adoption fees for cats adopted through Best Friends NYC during Valentine’s Day weekend (February 13–16). Anyone who adopts a cat through Best Friends at any point in February will also get a coupon for a month of free litter.
Translation: your new relationship comes with fewer hidden costs than most human ones.

There’s even science backing the cat glow-up.
Research commissioned by Fresh Step found that cat owners are more open emotionally and more likely to get a swipe right–especially from fellow cat people. Nearly 1 in 4 cat-owning dating app users say a cat photo makes them more likely to match. So technically, adopting a cat may improve your love life. You heard it here first!
If dating apps have you exhausted, this is your sign to pivot.

You can start swiping on adoptable cats directly in Bumble right now, or browse available felines at Best Friends online. Whether you’re looking for a cuddle buddy, a roommate who respects your independence, or a low drama soulmate, NYC’s rescue cats are ready for their soft launch into your life.
Who knows–this Valentine’s Day, your perfect match may have whiskers!
