NYC is no stranger to stunning, over-the-top desserts, such as Lysée, who displays their desserts like an art gallery, and Momoya SoHo, who offers a 5-course omakase experience that consists strictly of dessert, and this new NYC bakery is stepping into the scene with stunning fruit, flower, and mushroom desserts that look waaay too good to eat.
Salswee is NYC’s newest luxury French-Asian dessert and viennoiserie bakery serving light and delicious mousse cakes in the shape of fruits along with other pastries and espresso drinks.
And beyond being visually stunning, their flavors are absolutely out of this world.
Their pastry mango, for example, is made with fresh mango coulis and whipped mango ganache filling with achocolate surface and almond biscuit base. Their pastry mushroom is made with strawberry mousse and vanilla cream cheese and also has a strawberry coulis filling at the bottom.
Other offerings include tiramisu, raspberry tarts, croissants, and espresso drinks such as blue coconut, jasmine, and matcha lattes.
According to Eater, Salswee comes from an owner of Shakalaka Bakery, a Chinese bakery in Flushing, Queens.
Salswee is located in NoMad at 180 Fifth Avenue near West 23rd Street. You’ll know you’ve arrived when you see the baguette-shaped door handles!
You can keep up to date with them on their Instagram. Pro tip: arrive early because their desserts sell out fast!
