NYC has always had unpredictable weather, but this year seems to have taken it too far!
We haven’t had any climate consistency between experiencing unseasonably warm weather in March to air quality issues caused by the Canadian wildfires at the top of June.
Summer officially started this past Wednesday, and we were all looking forward to being outdoors this weekend, seeing as there are a million things to do and celebrate. Unfortunately, a gloom hovering over NYC will bring rain and thunderstorms to the boroughs this weekend, threatening numerous events and Pride celebrations!
Some event organizers have already sent out cancellations on their social channels, so double check before heading out.
Since Thursday, we’ve been experiencing some temperatures that have been unusually chilly and had New Yorkers pulling their jackets right back out of their closets. The skies have been a bit gray with some drizzle in the air, but today and Saturday are set to experience some actual precipitation.
Even though today is set only to reach a high of 73 degrees, the temperature should rise to about 83 tomorrow, which should feel more in season, but it will be a lot more humid because of the high dew points being brought on by on and off storms throughout the day.
And it’s not looking like we’ll get a break from the gray Gotham-esque skies any time soon.
The Weather Channel predicts nothing but showers and thunderstorms for the next week, even spanning all the way to next weekend! The temperature will only hit a high of 82 degrees on Sunday, but the rest of the week will see the high 70s.
But this is New York City; things change! We all know some instances where the forecast was predicted to be one thing and turned out to be something completely different.
Fingers crossed!
