With the last few months varying in freezing rain, snowstorms, and icy slush, it’s about time NYers got a break from the winter weather with some unseasonably warm temperatures.
Sure, we already got a taste earlier in February, but now we’re just even more ready for spring!
As NBC’s Storm Team 4 shared, within two days from Friday to Sunday temperatures will jump from 40 degrees to near-70.

And as you can see, it just might break a record! The last time Central Park hit 68 degrees was in 1935. And for other surrounding areas, it’s even supposed to blast past those previous record temps.
In fact, The Weather Channel even has NYC fully reaching 70 degrees in its predictions for the weekend:
Still, it might not be the best day for laying out in the park. There will be showers in the morning, but hopefully it will clear up by the afternoon!
NYC is sure to come out of hibernation as we expect streets and parks to be filled with happy New Yorkers soaking in their rare bit of sun during these normally colder months.
Next week temperatures will be steadily in the 50s, so things are warming up slowly but surely!
