Pictures of rush hours spots and livestreams from tourist hotspots make the once bustling NYC seem like a ghost town. And subway stations aren’t excluded. With only essential workers traveling each day and the system shutting down for overnight cleaning, the stations once stuffed with daily commuters are now empty.
In a city that has 5.7 million subway riders per day normally, it’s quite surreal to see the stations this way, especially notoriously crowded ones like Times Square and Union Square.
