Fall? Is that you?
The NYC weather this week is set to drop considerably after the final few days of September felt like summer deja vu. October, on the other hand, will start on a crisper note, so now might be a good time to retire the flip flops.
We wouldn’t want to speak too soon, but it does appear as though we are flirting with sweater weather. Allow us to give you the forecast details.
What to know about the NYC weather this week
According to theAccuWeather forecast, this week will be mostly sunny with temperatures in and around the low to mid 70s. Things change come Wednesday, October 1st.
The start of spooky season will be a mere 68 degrees, and Thursday just 65 degrees. But it’s the evenings you have to concern yourself with: Wednesday and Thursday evenings will be 50 and 52 degrees, respectively. If you’re out and about grabbing a bite after work or walking home from the gym, you should expect a bit of a chill.
If you’re a fall baby and revel in all-things pumpkin spice, this should be music to your ears! For the summer lovers among us: we’re sorry to break the news.
According to The Old Farmers Almanac, we’re due for a cooler season than usual, so it’ll make that trip to the pumpkin patch actually feel appropriate. (No sundresses on the farm come October — unless it’s with tights.) However, we shouldn’t expect the leaves to change just yet, even though they have elsewhere. Fall foliage in NYC isn’t expected to peak for about another month. But hey, at least you have the chill to get things started!
