As the weather cools down we lace up our skates and glide our way into the holiday season on all of the city’s best ice rinks, and from Vale Rink in Williamsburg to the newest rink under Brooklyn Bridge Park, many rinks found around the city offer stunning skyline views.
And while this rink isn’t in NYC it does offer beautiful views of the New York City skyline, and it’s officially open for the season!
Newport Skates, Jersey City’s only outdoor ice skating rink, has officially opened for the holiday season–just in time for the frosty weather that’s hitting NYC this week.
Skaters can glide on the ice while enjoying stunning skyline views for $13. And don’t get your laces in a knot if you don’t have your own skates–you can easily rent them for $7.
New this year the rink will also offer private lessons and party packages. Lessons are for ages three and up and include both group lessons through Fireworks Skating Academy as well as private lessons.
Newport Skates will be open Monday through Thursday 4 p.m. – 9 p.m., Friday 4 p.m. – 10 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. – 10 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. Hours are subject to change daily due to weather and ice conditions and they also have special hours on holidays–all of which you can keep up to date with on their Instagram.
Tickets are only available for digital purchase and must be purchased before you visit. You can grab your tickets on their website here.
