The Vale Rink, located on the 23rd floor rooftop of The William Vale in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, offers breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline, though it unfortunately won’t be returning this season for what would have been its fifth year.
The hotel opened in 2016 and also features its own public park space, pool, and local art displays. The rink was its newest addition to a space already full of fun.
And, unfortunately, not just the rink will remain closed this season–the Winter Village as a whole will also not be returning this year.
The crazy thing is the rink is actually not technically made of ice! According to a press release, their rink is made of “Glice”—a sustainable, synthetic ice made that doesn’t require any water or use of power. The surface creates a similar experience without all the cold and wetness of real ice!
Real ice or not though, we definitely are going to miss the Vale Rink this year!
Not all hope is lost though!
The good news is, guests can still check out the hotel’s Scandinavian-inspired Winter Spa, complete with panoramic barrel saunas and deep-soaking cedar hot tubs.
And, afterwards, you can enjoy festive offerings at its esteemed culinary concepts, Leuca and Westlight, all winter long.
We know what we’re adding to our holiday season to-do list!
