
The world-famous Macys 4th of July Fireworks launch from the East River returns on Friday night (July 4), marking the 49th edition of the patriotic celebration here in NYC!
Set to feature a one-of-a-kind pyrotechnic display with 30 different colors, over 80,000 shells, and 11 new effects (like crackling crown jellyfish, atomic rings, yellow & green sunbursts, strobing lemon cascades, comet fans & more), it’s set to be a legendary show.

This year’s Macy’s July 4th Fireworks will happen on Friday, July 4th around 9:25 pm and last around 25 minutes.
Where are the Macy’s July 4th Fireworks?
This year’s fireworks display will launch from the Brooklyn Bridge and four barges positioned on the lower East River in The Seaport neighborhood.
The 2025 location on the East side comes as the first year back after it switched to the west side’s Hudson River last year.

Where are the best places to watch the fireworks?
There are plenty of great viewing spots around NYC to see this year’s fireworks, and anywhere with a view of the sky above the lower East River will do.
Macy’s themself will have designated viewing zones, but free tickets are required to these zones which went “on sale” earlier this week and have now sold out. The area will not let you in if you don’t have a ticket.
There’s plenty of other great free spots to watch include along the Brooklyn waterfront near DUMBO, and on the Manhattan side near Seaport and down in FiDi.

What streets will be closed during the Macy’s fireworks?
As you can imagine, many NYC streets will be blocked for pedestrians and firework viewers on Friday night, both in Brooklyn and on the Manhattan Side.
