Wir sprechen von Speck, Ei und Käse auf einem Red Velvet Pancake, Chicken Parm auf einem Reiskrispie Sandwich, Chicken Shrimp Chopped Cheese und vielem mehr!

Sarge’s Delicatessen and Diner ist berühmt für sein hausgepökeltes Corn Beef, die hausgemachte Matzeballsuppe und den Käsekuchen. Natürlich ist ihr Pastrami das Stadtgespräch, aber sie sind auch die Heimat einer berühmten Essensherausforderung, bei der es darum geht, „The Monster“ zu essen, ein Sandwich mit fünf verschiedenen Arten von frisch geschnittenem Fleisch, das zwischen drei riesigen Scheiben dickem Roggenbrot liegt. Seien Sie gewarnt: Das ist nichts für schwache Nerven oder schwache Herzen!

Wie der Name schon vermuten lässt, ist die Pastrami in diesem Lokal in Uptown, das es schon seit Jahren in New York gibt, das Maß aller Dinge. Barney Greengrass hat sich seinen Namen als „Störkönig“ hier in NYC zu Recht verdient. Sie sind vor allem für ihre Fischkonserven bekannt, weshalb wir die Lachs- und Pastrami-Sandwiches empfehlen. Es gibt auch ein gutes Frühstück, falls Sie etwas anderes als Fisch suchen.

Der letzte Punkt auf unserer Liste ist David’s Brisket House, wo, wie Sie sich vorstellen können, die Rinderbrust ziemlich lecker ist. Das Stammlokal in Bed-Stuy bietet sein berühmtestes Gericht, den Brisketbraten auf einem Brötchen mit Bratensoße, für etwa 18 Dollar an, aber auch Pastrami und Corned Beef sind erhältlich. Und das Beste daran? Sie können sogar etwas Fleisch mit nach Hause nehmen, denn alle drei Varianten werden pfundweise verkauft!
