If you’ve been to Chicago you’re likely familiar with the City Winery igloos along the serene Riverwalk. Last year NYC got to experience them for the first time, and now City Winery has brought them back to Rockefeller Plaza!
The four Winter Domes at Rockefeller Plaza are a great way to warm up this winter if you’re looking to be at the heart of all the holiday buzz. City Winery‘s winter dome igloos seat up to eight and are of course completely heated (so you won’t have to hang out to your coat while you sip on your spiked hot cider).
As City Winery notes, you can take a break from all your holiday shopping to pop in for a couple of hours of eating and drinking. While in the domes you’ll be able to choose from seasonal items like hot chocolate, spiked cider, and mulled wine, as well as wines on tap and beers from Montauk Brewing Co. The food menu will include light bites such as cheese plates, cheese and meat plates, marinated olives, hummus, and an Italian wrap.
Since there are only four domes, guests will have to act quickly. In order to reserve a Winter Dome there will be a minimum food and beverage spend of up to $250 for up to eight guests. Reservations will give guests 90 minutes in the exclusive private space to snack and drink as they’d like. If you want to get there and make the most of your time, City Winery also allows you to do a pre-order of menu items!
And this year, the domes will be cleaned with a state-of-the-art electromagnetic fogger in between seatings.
The wintry igloos at Rockefeller Center are part of City Winery’s pop-up outdoor wine garden that’ll be there daily through the end of the year. The wine garden offers a Mediterranean-inspired menu including charcuterie, cheeses, burrata, and a variety of other dishes.
And there’s another surprise this year: City Winery will head a brand-new pop-up café and wine bar right next to the iconic Rockefeller Center ice rink! While taking in the incredible holiday sights, enjoy the likes of warm Bavarian pretzels, cinnamon buns, and tomato soup, plus City Winery’s wines and local brews.
For more details on both pop-ups, head to City Winery’s site here. The area will be open from 1pm until 10pm, daily.
