Joey doesn’t share food, but we’ll share all of the delicious deets: Central Perk, the fictional coffee shop in Friends, is getting an IRL location in Midtown where it rightfully belongs. Could we BE any more excited?
Peter van Roden, EVP of Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences said, “At the heart of that story was always Central Perk, the iconic coffeehouse and the group’s home base, set in Manhattan. It was a place where laughter, connection, and unforgettable moments were shared…and it remains that today.”
Needless to say, we’re ready to pivot our way over to Times Square to get a taste of the iconic hangout ourselves.
Central Perk’s opening details
On Friday, December 12th, New Yorkers and visitors will be able to immerse themselves in the ultimate Friends experience, orange couch and all, and enjoy bites from Top Chef and James Beard Award Winner Tom Colicchio. (Move over, Monica.)
Ironically, a Central Perk debuted in Boston several years ago, so it was only fitting to return to the place where it all began.
Paul Landino, CenPer Holdings, LLC, Company Executive said, “Opening in Times Square, known as the crossroads of the world, is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to bring that vision to life, offering creative coffee drinks and delicious food in a space that is both familiar and refreshingly modern.”

Not only will guests be treated to some great eats, but they’ll be able to revel in the Friends-themed nostalgia and take home merch from their favorite show. (We’ve been eyeing the mugs and t-shirts, personally.)
Additionally, pop artist Burton Morris, who worked on the series, will have works displayed throughout the café, adding a truly authentic touch.
All we have left to say is: “OH. MY. GOD.”
