The one where it comes back to NYC.
Central Perk, the beloved coffee shop in Friends, opened an IRL location in Boston two years ago. Now, the iconic gathering spot — orange couch and all — will get a permanent home in Midtown where it rightfully belongs.
All we can say is, “OH. MY. GOD”
NYC is getting a permanent Central Perk in Times Square
Pivot into Times Square for a dose of nostalgia: Central Perk will include coffee, bites, Friends-inspired merch, and a menu from Top Chef and James Beard Award Winner Tom Colicchio. (If you thought Joey didn’t share food before…)
“FRIENDS is one of those rare shows that continues to bring people together, generation after generation,” Peter van Roden, EVP, Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences said in a statement. “At the heart of that story was always Central Perk, the iconic coffeehouse and the group’s home base, set in Manhattan. It was a place where laughter, connection, and unforgettable moments were shared…and it remains that today.”
Needless to say, it was inevitable for Central Perk to return to its roots.
“When we launched the first Central Perk Coffeehouse in Boston, our goal was always to expand to New York City, a place where fans and friends alike could create their own stories in the city where the series was set,” Paul Landino, CenPer Holdings, LLC, Company Executive, revealed in a statement. “Opening in Times Square is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to bring that vision to life.”
We’re particularly looking forward to Central Perk Coffee Co.’s six original coffee blends, which is available in ground, whole bean, and compostable capsule formats. We’ll start with a cup of “How You Doin'” and finish up with “We Were on a Coffee Break.”

The fictional turned IRL coffee shop will debut later this fall, although a date has yet to be confirmed. Stay tuned, Friends fans.
