Yes, Bryant Park’s amazing Winter Village opened on Friday, Oct. 30…and now we can confirm that includes the ice rink!
Everyone loves the shops and food that make the holiday spirit come to life at Bryant Park’s Winter Village, but the most magical part is the incredible ice rink. So grab your skates and get ready to enjoy New York’s only admission-free ice rink!
You can reserve your skate time online rather than waiting in those long lines like years prior while abiding COVID-19 safety precautions. The rink will experience a reduced capacity, improved sanitization, contactless payment, and yes, each skater must wear a mask.
A skate session begins upon arrival and skaters must exit the rink when their time is up. Off-peak days will offer longer sessions and if you’re an avid skater looking to get the longest session available, their website advises you to choose the earliest 8 a.m. time slot as those skaters are given 75-90 minutes on the ice.
Bag check will still be available to visitors and skaters must drop their belongings off before their assigned ticket skate time. Lockers have been removed for COVID-19 safety reasons therefore a skater will receive a “shoe bag” upon renting skates. This will be a drawstring bag to hold your street shoes in while skating. And the best part, you get to keep your “shoe bag” if you so please! Those who bring their own skates can bring their own drawstring bag.
The Winter Village will now be an exclusively outdoor event this year so make sure you don’t forget your coat, hat, and gloves to stay warm while you enjoy all of the holiday fun!
