The Bronx’s most beloved food festival, Bronx Night Market, has officially announced their return date for the season, and this year it’ll be bigger than ever and feature an exciting new format—it’ll now happen every Saturday!
The event has been supporting local establishments from the borough since 2017 and has served more than 150,000 Bronx residents. As the longest-running and most successful event in the Bronx’s history, “the series, celebrating culture and cuisine, represents the city’s diverse offerings and supports up-and-coming food concepts, all the while encouraging visitors from the greater New York area and beyond to explore [the] borough,” says their website.
The market helps small, local businesses by giving them a platform to sell their products. 70% of the vendors classify themselves as micro-, small-, POC-, immigrant-, LGBTQIA+-, and female-owned businesses. And now that the market is evolving from a monthly event to a weekly celebration, food lovers, culture enthusiasts, and families will have even more opportunities to experience the best of Bronx cuisine, music, and community.
Each week will feature a rotating lineup of over 30 top local food, beverage, and merchandise vendors, perfectly curating a taste of the Bronx’s incredible culinary diversity. Delicious displays of their offerings can be found on their Instagram such as mac & cheese fried burritos, enormous slices of carrot cake, fried chicken cones, and watermelon pizza! And, for activities beyond stuffing your face, the night market even hosts live music, entertainment, and family-friendly activities.
Returning to Fordham Plaza April 5th, the Bronx Night Market remains free and open to all ages, welcoming both longtime fans and first-time visitors to treat their tastebuds to some of the best global cuisine the Bronx has to offer.
