Though back in October Bronx Night Market announced they’d be shutting down for good after a 7-year run, they had a change of heart after MASC Hospitality Group (MHG) announced the market would actually be returning for its seventh season–and it returns this weekend, Saturday, April 6th.
According to 6SqFt, Bronx Night Market will return with “a new holistic approach designed to address previous issues and make Fordham Plaza a center for ‘community, culture, and commerce.'” Beyond just food vendors, the market will also offer visitors a variety of new programming including cooking demonstrations and nutrition education, a curated bookstore, and more.
Bronx Night Market has been supporting local establishments from the borough since 2018 and has served more than 150,000 Bronx residents.
Featuring over 20 countries’ cuisines and 50+ vendors, “the series, celebrating culture and cuisine, represents the city’s diverse offerings and supports up-and-coming food concepts, all the while encouraging visitors from the greater New York area and beyond to explore our borough,” their says their website.
The market helps small, local businesses by giving them a platform to sell their products. 70% of the vendors classify themselves as micro-, small-, POC-, immigrant-, LGBTQIA+-, and female-owned businesses.
Delicious displays of their offerings can be found on their Instagram such as mac & cheese fried burritos, enormous slices of carrot cake, fried chicken cones, and watermelon pizza!
For activities beyond stuffing your face, the night market normally hosts musical guests.
Returning to Fordham Plaza this weekend, the Bronx Night Market will treat your tastebuds to some of the best global cuisine NYC has to offer for a seventh season.
