Arguably more important than what’s happening on the field is what visitors are eating in the stands: i.e., the Yankees tiramisu helmet.
The Bronx bombers’ 2025 season began on a high note with the most home runs in a game in franchise history and got MLB fans talking with its highly contentious torpedo bats. Now, the stadium’s desserts are stealing the spotlight from the players.
All about the Yankees tiramisu helmets
As social media sensation and tasty snack, the trendy tiramisu offerings are placed in helmets à la soft serve ice cream. Rather than a Carvel-style snack, the helmets include an Italian favorite that consists of ladyfingers, mascarpone cheese, all topped with cocoa powder. Need we say more?
Chef Christian Petroni (and Bronx native) grew up at the stadium and was honored to embark on the task of creating the Yanks’ next grand-slam treat, which he worked on alongside Fortunato Brothers, a beloved Italian bakery in Brooklyn.
Fortunatos was a great fit not only because I love Biagio the owner, but this is a legacy family business,” Petroni tells Secret NYC. “They take pride in what they do, so for me it was a no-brainer.”
As far as how he landed on the Italian specialty? Petroni had help from his roots: his mother and his go-to stadium snack.
“When I was a little kid, one of my biggest highlights at the game was the helmet with the ice cream in it — this was a natural fit,” he says. “My mother’s favorite dessert that she would make us growing up was tiramisu, so the combination of a Yankees helmet with tiramisu could not be more authentic of an item for me to highlight at the best stadium in the world.”
And if you ask the chef, what you eat can make or break a game-day experience — so might as well make it delicious!
“Listen when you’re at the park, whether your team is doing good or not so good, the food in the stadium can be a great way to celebrate or help you forget what you may have just watched,” he jokes.
