Whether you’re eating it at a summer barbecue or hidden from the cold in a dive bar, we’ll never get tired of biting into a delicious and comforting burger, but with all the different places to get one in NYC it can be hard to figure out which is the best.
Well, if there’s one thing we’re gonna do it’s gonna be trust a study about burgers done by a group of people who call themselves Burgerdudes–plus, they’ve spent the last nine years searching for the world’s best hamburgers and are the largest burger website in the world today.
Burgerdudes publish up to five burger reviews every week and have finally created the ultimate list of The World’s 25 Best Burgers, from food trucks to artisanal burger joints and everything in between.
And, if you’re looking to bite into one yourself in the bustling streets of NYC, the good news is there’s no shortage of places to head to–in fact, you can even order the world’s best burger in the West Village at Pizza Loves Emily. And yes, while you would assume their main focus is on pizza, Burderdudes holds their burger (there’s only one on their menu) in high regard.
Their website states:
Yes, the world’s best burger restaurant can be found in a pizza parlour…and has been our firm favourite ever since we first tried them back in 2017. Several visits later, we still dream about The Emmy Double Stack Burger. Every bite fills us with awe…Time after time, Pizza Loves Emily still retains its title as the best burger in the world, offering an unmissable dining experience (alongside their excellent pizza).
The Emmy Double Stack Burger consists of two dry-aged grass fed beef patties, American cheese, caramelized onions, pickles, and their EMMY sauce on a pretzel bun. Burgerdudes use the phrase “taste explosion” when describing it, and, as if the burger itself wasn’t enough, it even comes with a side of waffle fries.
Beyond Pizza Loves Emily, NYC found itself on the list several other times for locations including:
- Au Cheval (33 Cortlandt Alley) – #4 on the list
- Pastis (52 Gansevoort Street) – #8 on the list
- Red Hook Tavern (329 Van Brunt Street) – #10 on the list
- Nowon (507 E 6th Street) – #13 on the list
- Harlem Shake (100 W 124th Street) – #15 on the list
- 4 Charles Prime Rib (4 Charles Street) – #18 on the list
- Emmy Squared (Multiple Locations) – #21 on the list
- JG Melon (1291 3rd Avenue) – #25 on the list
