This is the third flyover in NYC within two weeks.
First we had the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds & U.S. Navy Blue Angels do an air show to honor healthcare workers, then yesterday we saw a low-altitude JetBlue flyover highlighting the NYPD and FDNY, and today, apparently we will see some aircrafts from another era over our city.
Notify NYC sent out an alert stating that “11 vintage WWII aircraft will fly along the Hudson River, over the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, then eastbound over the Long Island Sound on 5/8 at 12:30pm.” It is to honor the 75th anniversary of V-E Day (Victory in Europe Day), when Nazi Germany surrendered to Allied Forces marking the end of World War II.
The aircrafts will be flying at 1,500 ft. Tag us if you are able to catch a video!
