Meet the NYC’s newest Upper East Sider, a coyote!
According to the NYPD, a coyote was sighted strolling the streets on the Upper East Side earlier this morning. The animal was seen along 80th Street close to 2nd Avenue at about 9:31am.
You may be surprised to learn, but NYC is actually home to a small population of coyotes. However, there’s still no information on how or why the coyote got to where it was captured by the NYPD in a parking garage close to Central Park.
Remember when there were weekly coyote sightings in Central Park back in 2020?
It seems the Department of Environmental Conservation received the coyote from the NYPD to take the animal for a health evaluation.
Stay tuned for more updates to come.
