Delmonico’s Steakhouse is a classic FiDi gem with a rich history dating all the way back to 1837. And while the NYC staple recently made headlines for undergoing a complicated legal battle for ownership, it finally made its NYC return after temporarily closing due to the pandemic–and now they have something else in the works!
TUCCI, a 60-seat “sister” establishment to Delmonico’s, is in the works to open this March. It will be run by co-owner Dennis Turcinovic and partner Max Tucci whose grandparents and parents operated Delmonico’s from the early 1900s through 1990s.
The fine-dining Italian trattoria will serve contemporary northern and southern dishes in a 4,000 square-foot, two-level space that combines elegance with whimsical touches.
The main floor will boast intimate banquets, velvet drapes, and floor-to-ceiling windows, while the lower level dining and cocktail lounge will come together with brick and stone arches dating back to the 1800s and a massive handmade bar.
Delmonico’s chef Edward Hong will lead the kitchen, offering guests a menu filled with modern, elevated takes on dishes inspired by the Tucci family’s Italian heritage.
Menu highlights include TUCCI’S Meatball, with Calabrian chili marinara, pine nuts, and Manchego, Casarecce alla Boscaiola, sweet italian sausage with morels, Osso Buco Ravioli, with bone marrow and chestnut pesto, and Poached Dover Sole, made with young fennel, shellfish cream sauce, and dill.
And, of course, Delmonico’s classic Eye of Delmonico steak, with braised endive and balsamic verjus sauce, will find its place on the menu as well.
Turcinovic stated:
As with Delmonico’s, Tucci is a gathering place and destination to enjoy creative interpretations of traditional dishes with rich histories but in a more intimate space. The restaurant is designed to create a warm, welcoming experience making it the perfect setting for an intimate dinner, a gathering with friends, or a special celebration.
TUCCI is set to open on Friday, March 15th at 643 Broadway on the corner of Bleecker Street.
