Did you know there’s another Little Italy in New York City that’s way further uptown?
Okay, it’s in another borough completely! Arthur Avenue (or the area of Belmont) in the Bronx, is also known as “Little Italy in the Bronx.”
This area has developed a very special, under-the-radar alcove of quality Italian restaurants, markets, bakeries, and shops thanks to the generations of Italian immigrants who have lived there.
Here are some of our favorite spots in the neighborhood!

Little Italy, Bronx Restaurants
1. Zero Otto Nove
Head to Zero Otto Nove for brick-oven pizzas and quality pasta. They don’t take reservations so you may (very likely will) have to wait! In the warm weather, the outdoor courtyard will make you feel like you’ve traveled to Italy. Fun fact: it’s named after the area code of the owner’s hometown in Salerno, Italy (089).

2. Roberto’s
Chef Roberto will make you feel like a member of his family as he cooks for you in his restaurant, which has been in the neighborhood for over 12 years. Try his homemade fresh pasta with hand-pureed tomatoes, or something opulent like his roast rabbit with juice-soaked potatoes.

3. Enzo’s
Another hotspot for Italian classics like ravioli, gnocchi, and bolognese, Enzo’s opened a little off Arthur Ave in 1998. The portions are large—so prepare to have leftovers!

4. Marios
A family-owned restaurant, Marios serves dishes cooked by master Chef Massimo. Weekly specialties served by the chef can include stuffed artichoke, wild mushroom ravioli with braised beef sauce, and even lobster bisque. Their regular menu has even more range, offering customizable pasta, pizzas, and other classic Italian staples.

5. Michaelangelos
Whether you’re in the mood for a brick oven pizza, or perhaps a hearty alfredo cream sauce pasta and steak, Michaelangelos is the place to go for your classic and extravagant Italian food needs.

6. Luna Cafe
Despite being located in the heart of Little Italy, this cafe also serves Albanian cuisine! If you want to try something different, we recommend burek, a flaky dough pie stuffed with your choice of cheese, meat or spinach. For those with a sweet tooth, you can never go wrong with one of their vanilla gelato crepes or even a slice of baklava!

7. The Market
The Market is one of the crowned jewels of Little Italy. A marketplace full of authentic Italian food stalls, it is a one-stop deal for fresh fish and butchered meat, gourmet delicatessens, and more.

Pastries & Bakeries
8. Delillo
Can’t leave “Little Italy” without Italian pastries! Delillo has amazing cannolis, biscotti, cakes, cookies…pretty much everything! Don’t forget to pair it with a shot of espresso.

9. Artuso Pastry Shop
For over 75 years, Artuso has built a reputation as one of the pastry staples in Little Italy. Be sure to try one of their classic Italian pastries such as butter cookies, sfogliatelles, zeppoles, cakes for all occasions, and of course, cannolis.

1o. Morrone Pastry Shop & Cafe
Not only does Morrone’s serve a wide selection of Italian pastries, pies, cakes, cheesecakes, and seasonal confections, but they also have other delicacies such as chocolate-covered strawberries, gelato, and even creme brulee. When grabbing one of their baked goods, make sure to order a cappuccino as well.

11. Ginos Pastry Shop
Ginos is known as the “Cannoli King” of Little Italy. When you order a cannoli from Ginos, expect to see the shells filled with fresh cream right in front of you, with the option of adding chocolate and/or pistachio! Another great place for cappuccinos, you can never go wrong with a classic coffee and cannoli combo.

12. Prince Coffee House
Prince Coffee House offers an intimate ambiance, good quality coffee, and delectable pastries. If you’re looking to do your work with a new atmosphere, whilst drinking a latte and enjoying a slice of their spongy coconut cake, it’s more than worth a visit.

17. Mikes Deli
In 2022, Mikes was named as the best deli in the Bronx by Best of the Bronx competition. Located in the Arthur Avenue Market, it is no wonder why, as Mikes provides the community with sandwiches made from the freshest cured meats, cheeses, and produce. Their antipasto boards are perfect to bring to gatherings, and will surely be the party favorite!

18. Borgatti’s Ravioli and Egg Noodles
Since 1935, Borgatti’s has been making their pasta in-house. Selling cuts such as lasagna, cavatelli, and ravioli, Borgatti’s is the place to pick up ingredients for your best lunch or dinner. Their fettuccine alone is sold in a variety of flavors, such as lemon pepper, red beet, and even squid ink!
