Gratis admission is always appreciated in NYC, and now, the Vessel is offering free tickets to New Yorkers this season.
If you’re planning on venturing to Hudson Yards and want to explore one of the city’s most photographed locations for yourself, we’ll tell you everything you need to know.
How to get free tickets to The Vessel
The attraction will reopen for the spring season on Friday, February 28th. On Thursdays beginning this March, native New Yorkers will be able to venture inside for free.
It’s simple: tickets will be made available online every last Friday of the month for the next month ahead. With a valid i.d., upon check-out locals can explore the space free of charge.
Should you miss out on the window of opportunity, do note that there will be a select number of free, day-of tickets available on Thursdays, but we’d suggest setting a reminder for yourself nonetheless.
*TRIGGER WARNING*
In October 2024, the Vessel reopened after 39 months of closure with additional safety features. According to real estate firm Related Companies, the upper level of the structure were retrofitted with steel mesh barriers that extend from floor to ceiling, a move that was made following a string of tragic suicides in 2021. Since the same features weren’t available for the structure’s top level, it remains closed to visitors.
“Not a day goes by that we don’t have visitors walking up to our staff asking where they can buy tickets and when it will reopen…that interest hasn’t diminished during the time we’ve been closed and we’re excited to welcome guests from all around the world back to Vessel with additional safety measures in place,” Related Companies CEO, Jeff T. Blau said in a statement.
