Best Things To Do in Hudson Yards
NYC’s Hudson Yards is full of things to see and do! From one of the most notable observation decks to a massive shopping mall, there’s plenty of things to do in the neighborhood! Check out our favorites below.
1. The Vessel
The 150-foot-tall artistic creation by Thomas Heatherwick is comprised of 154 intricately interconnecting flights of stairs, almost 2,500 individual steps, and 80 landings. Though it remains temporarily closed by the end of this year the first two levels will be fully open, along with the portions of the upper levels that have new barriers.

2. Edge
For those looking to get their adrenaline pumping, head to the highly-praised, tallest outdoor observation deck in the Western Hemisphere. It clocks in at 1,131 feet high and juts out of the building about 80-feet, enclosed by a nine-foot-tall glass wall. Grab tickets to this amazing experience here.

3. The Shops at Hudson Yards
Home to over 100 stores and boutiques, The Shops at Hudson Yards is a shopoholic’s dream! The complex features over 750,000 square feet of retail space and is home to many flagships like Alo, Aritizia, Cartier, H&M, and so many more. Take a few hours and stroll through some of fashion’s biggest names!

4. The Shed
Take in your share of NYC culture at The Shed Performing Arts Center, where there’s always performance art events and fine art installations happening all the time.

5. Peak
Situated on the 101st floor (that’s one floor higher than Edge!) come here for the delicious modern American cuisine, stay for the stunning 360° views of Manhattan.

6. Mercado Little Spain
An all-day destination for Spanish food, drinks, & culture, Mercado Little Spain is a sprawling Spanish food market with several restaurants & kiosks to choose such as Spanish Diner, Leña, Mar, and La Barra. So you can enjoy food from 5+ spots in one!

7. Estiatorio Milos
This gorgeous Mediterranean restaurant on the 5th floor is as elegant as you can imagine, where the entire restaurant is painted white. The Greek food here is utterly exemplary, and the hospitality and service is top notch. Ask for a table by the windows for an aerial view while you slurp down the best oysters, raw fish, and seafood you’ve ever had in your life.

8. Electric Lemon
If you’re looking for fresh, seasonal ingredients from local farmers, fisheries, and artisans, prepared in a light, clean style Electric Lemon is the place to head to. They’re open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and have their own 8,000-square-foot terrace, herb garden, and gorgeous views of the Hudson River.

9. queensyard
Get your buzz on without breaking the bank at queensyard from 5 pm to 7 pm Monday through Friday. Enjoy $5 draft Narragansetts, $10 liquor selections, $12 specialty house cocktails, and $8 bar bites including olives, chips, and guac.

10. Verano
The team behind Peak also recently opened Verano. Named for the Spanish word for summer, Verano’s food is inspired by the streets of Mexico. The restaurant is open now through October and boasts a casual atmosphere that includes a mix of spacious outdoor seating and curated music. Their Frozen Mucho Mango cocktail is a must-sip this summer–we suggest making it spicy!

Take in the views of Manhattan’s trendiest neighborhood with a cocktail in hand of course! Located both within The Shops at Hudson Yards and around it, these are our favorite places to grab a drink in the area.
11. Porchlight
At Porchlight happy hour is 3 pm – 7 pm Monday through Saturday and allllll day Sunday! We’ll have a dirty vodka martini, please.

12. Peekaboo
Located within Hudson Yards restaurant Peak, this elevated (in all senses of the word) nightspot offers sweeping city views that you can’t get anywhere else.

Now officially open, Rose Room is an espresso martini bar that serves 5 different cocktails…as well as perhaps the best truffle fries you’ve ever tried.

14. Milo’s Wine Bar
Estiatorio Milos’ sister bar serves up over 100 Greek wines that we promise you won’t find anywhere else in NYC. The wine bar is sexy and upscale inside, with intelligible sommeliers behind the bar. It’s a perfect place to pull up a chair and talk flavors.

Best Coffeeshops/Cafés in Hudson Yards
15. Bluestone Lane
Bluestone Lane is more than a coffeeshop–they serve food items such as salmon toast, salads, and croissant sandwiches as well–but we promise once you taste a sip of their Australian coffee your life will be changed.

16. Maman
French bakery Maman is an NYC favorite—which may just have the best chocolate chip cookies in the city–but their front-of-house espresso bar pours one of the tastiest shots of espresso we’ve ever tasted. Plus, the decor practically transports you to a luscious green garden.
