Broadway’s Othello is offering $49 tickets to students at every performance. The student rush tickets first launched in late March, and continue to give students more affordable ways to enjoy NYC’s wonderful live theater.
Each performance, a select amount of these student-rate tickets are set aside. Eligible students are able to head to the Barrymore Theatre box office as soon as it opens for that day’s performance (10am on Tuesdays through Saturdays and 12pm on Sundays). Proof of a valid student ID will be required at the box office.
Students are allotted one ticket each. According to Playbill, these student rush tickets may be partial view. But hey, Broadway tickets under $50 is an absolute steal—especially when tickets in the center orchestra are anywhere around $900.

And if you needed even more reason to get a ticket, you should know that Othello broke records as the highest-grossing Broadway show ever. The production brought in $2.8 million in just one week.
The Shakespeare classic has been stunning audiences with its star-studded cast, featuring Tony & Academy Award winner Denzel Washington (Othello) and Tony & Academy Award nominee Jake Gyllenhaal (lago), with Tony Award winner, Kenny Leon, directing.

If you’re unfamiliar with the story of Othello, it follows a tragic tale of manipulation, murder and suicide, set in Venice and Cyprus. The play was written around 1603, and is still engaging audiences nearly five centuries later.
The entire duration of Othello is approximately 2 hours and 35 minutes with one intermission. It will only be on Broadway for a limited 15-week run through June 8th, 2025, so don’t miss out on this opportunity for the chance to see it. You can learn more and buy your tickets on the official Othello Broadway website.
Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal are not the only A-list celebrities on the Broadway stage at the moment. Singer and band member, Nick Jonas, is starring in The Last Five Years, Nicole Scherzinger from the Pussycat Dolls is wowing crowds in Sunset Boulevard, and Sadie Sink, from Stranger Things, is in John Proctor Is the Villain.
