Whether you were a die-hard Normal People fan or simply love a man in shorter inseams, Irish actor, Paul Mescal is everyone’s crush. Lucky for us, Mescal will be making his Off-Broadway debut at Brooklyn Music Academy in a production of A Street Car Named Desire this February.
Before making its way to NYC, the production sold back-to-back sold out runs at Nöel Coward Theatre in London‘s West End, so we’re fairly certain we’re in for quite a treat. (The Evening Standard referred to the play as “the stuff theatrical myths are made of” — and not just Paul!)
Who will Paul Mescal play in A Streetcar Named Desire?
Paul Mescal will be fulfilling the role as Stanley Kowalski alongside co-stars Anjana Vasan, who will play Stella Kowalski, and Patsy Ferran as Blanche DuBois. Here’s everything you need to know about the production and how to see it while it’s in Brooklyn.
What is A Streetcar Named Desire about?

This iteration from Rebecca Frecknall of A Streetcar Named Desire is based off of the original play by Tennessee Williams, following a woman who moves in with her sister and brother-in-law in the late 40s, a time when America was still recovering from WWII.
How long will A Streetcar Named Desire run at BAM?
The production will play at BAM Strong’s Harvey Theater from February 28th through April 6th, 2025, making it a must for your springtime bucket list.
What else is coming to BAM in 2025?

Theatergoers can expect even more jaw-dropping productions in the coming year, including The Threepenny Opera and Macbeth in Stride. Further performances include shows from The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and British composer Max Richter, along with Dance Africa and a new family performance.
