New York City is giving you yet another way to test your bravery against heights with the new event Star Party, offering you the opportunity to take in 360-degree views of New York City at 30 Rockefeller Plaza.
Grab your sleeping bag and head to the Top of the Rock’s Weather Room where you’ll be invited to relax, sleep, and meditate while immersing yourself in a music exploration til the sun comes up. This overnight eight-hour music series immerses you in soft, ambient music and lines up with the seasonal equinoxes and solstices.
The first Star Party will ring in the Spring equinox, taking place Saturday, March 19. Emily Sprague, songwriter behind the indie folk group Florist, will perform long-form instrumental music inspired by her personal explorations.
Only a limited number of tickets are available and they come with a bag of goodies including Star Party merchandise, snacks, and a morning coffee. Doors open at 10:30p.m. and Sprague’s performance will take place 11p.m. – 7a.m.
This Spring equinox Star Party is only the first one of this series, so if you can’t catch this one don’t worry! Their next event is already planned for Saturday, June 18, in order to welcome the Summer solstice.
Note: Guests will need to complete a security screening upon entry. Comfortable clothes, blankets, and sleeping bags are encouraged. Alcohol is not permitted.
