We’re less than three weeks away from the rare total solar eclipse taking place on Monday, April 8th, though unfortunately New York City won’t be blanketed in total darkness like other parts of the US. And considering this phenomenon won’t happen again until 2044 you don’t want to miss out on getting the full experience!
Thankfully, this railway is ensuring that doesn’t happen.
The BERLIN Sleeping Car will embark on a Solar Eclipse Limited Special, bringing 18 guests on a voyage from NYC’s Penn Station to Niagara Falls to witness the total solar eclipse.
Private Pullman Car BERLIN will depart Moynihan Train Hall at 10am on Sunday, April 7th, traveling along the Hudson River before arriving at Niagara Falls around 7:30pm. Along the way straphangers will be treated to a chef-prepared lunch and dinner and breakfast on Monday, April 8th.
Those that hop aboard will have the chance to explore Niagara Falls independently on Monday, April 8th, with the eclipse beginning at 2:04pm and reaching the point of totality, blanketing the area in darkness, at 3:18pm. The darkness will last for approximately 3 minutes and 31 seconds.
Guests will sleep onboard the train both Sunday and Monday night, before departing at 6am on Tuesday, April 9th back to Penn Station, traveling past stunning scenery along the Hudson River.
The train will offer 6 Master Suites (with a toilet, sink, and shower annex en-suite) and 3 Double Bedrooms (with a toilet and sink en-suite and a shower-restroom at the end of hallway).
