It seems pretty clear that people in NYC are trying their hardest to get rid of smoking altogether with an app that was recently created to help New Yorkers quit, to the new laws this year that may potentially make it illegal to smoke in your own home!
Now, an NYC councilman from Queens, Peter Koo, is proposing a bill that would make smoking while walking on sidewalks a misdemeanor.
Any non-smoker would likely agree that it can be unpleasant to get stuck walking behind someone puffing clouds of smoke in the air, so Koo has proposed a bill that would force smokers to stick to designated smoking areas outside. Under his bill it would be a misdemeanor to smoke while “walking on New York City Sidewalks,” with a fine of about $50 if caught.
According to Fox5, Councilman Koo was planning to introduce this bill as soon as, well, today!
