If you’ve ever strolled past India Street in Greenpoint and wondered what everyone was waiting in line for, it was undoubtedly to get a taste of Radio Bakery‘s innovative offerings, from heirloom tomato croissants to earl grey morning buns.
Lucky for us, New Yorkers have another opportunity to wait in line at Radio Bakery’s new Prospect Heights location at 186 Underhill Avenue.
Now you may be thinking, why would I stand in a line that goes around the block for pastries? I did too. That is, until I had Radio Bakery.
I can now say with full confidence that the line is absolutely worth what you get. I ordered one of their lunch sandwiches with prosciutto and burrata and one bite into the buttery focaccia and I knew that I’d turn right back in line if I had to just to get another taste. Plus, everything they bake is only available on a first-come, first-served basis, so you start to understand the urgency.
The new Prospect Heights location fired up its ovens and welcomed hungry customers just yesterday (Monday, March 3rd) and already sold out on opening day.
Customers can pick up pastries at the new Radio Bakery location everyday from 7:30am to 3:30pm. Due note that certain products come out at different times. If you’re on a quest for a croissant, they’ll be out as early as 7:30am – 8am. However, if you’re interested in grabbing breakfast focaccia, you’ll want to show up around 10am, and 11am for lunch sandwiches.
The menu at the new location promises the same freshly baked breads, croissants, focaccias and sandwiches. Still unsure if it’s worth the hype? Guess you’ll have to wait in line and find out for yourself!
