A first-of-its-kind Mister Softee store is officially open on Long Island, and you’ll want to bookmark the location for your impending summer adventures.
As much as we enjoy chasing after the truck’s iconic jingle — speaking of which, this interactive map will help you find Mister Softee trucks in NYC — we’ll admit, we’re not opposed to the convenience of a brick-and-mortar locale, especially when the craving for a soft-serve chocolate cone strikes.
The East Islip treat from owner Jimmy Ilya — who has been operating the franchise’s trucks since 2007, according to Patch.com — has plenty of deliciousness available: the iconic soft serve and hard ice cream with over 40 flavors. The store gives the opportunity for customers to enjoy more intricate treats like sundaes and shakes, which might not have been as readily available via trucks. All in all, we’re not opposed to a Mister Softee pitstop when en route toward wine country out east.
And unfortunately, it’s been noted that Mister Softee is disappearing on city streets, so any possible way to satisfy creaming cravings is welcome.
