London’s legendary Indian restaurant, Dishoom, has officially secured its Manhattan address, setting the stage for one of the city’s most anticipated culinary debuts. Slated to open in March 2027 at 11 E. 26th Street in NoMad, the stateside expansion will finally bring the brand’s cult-favorite house black daal and bacon naan rolls across the Atlantic.
New Yorkers have been eagerly awaiting Dishoom’s arrival in New York City since the news was first confirmed in August 2025. And with executive chef Arun Kumar recently cementing the timeline, we’re officially inching closer to the brand’s comforting yet elevated takes on Indian classics.
The long-anticipated NYC expansion
Dishoom first tested the New York City market in the summer of 2024 with a wildly successful two-week breakfast pop-up Pastis–where reservations sold out in under five minutes–though the brand has been eyeing a Manhattan opening since 2016.
Co-founder Kavi Thakrar previously noted that the growth of South Asian communities and a nationwide shift in the perception of Indian cuisine made New York the obvious next step for the brand’s international debut. Thakrar told the New York Times:
There are so many young professionals, second-generation, third-generation people running businesses. Indian food is finally part of the city’s fabric.
This massive leap across the pond is being made possible with the backing off £300 million in funding from L Catterton, the private equity firm tied to luxury conglomerate LVMH.

What to expect on the Dishoom NYC menu
While final details on the NoMad menu and interior design are still largely under wraps, diners can expect the transportive, cinematic homage to the historic Irani cafés of 1960s Bombay that made the brand famous.
The menu will likely feature the same legendary staples that fans fly across the world for–and UK residents luckily get to enjoy on any regular Tuesday–including:
- The Bacon Naan Roll: A breakfast favorite featuring smoked streaky bacon and chili tomato jam
- Signature House Black Daal: Rich, deeply flavored, and slow-cooked for 24 hours
- Gunpowder Potatoes: Crispy and tossed with bold crushed spices
- Chicken Ruby Curry: A decadent, buttery classic
- Lamb Nihari Biryani & Vada Pav: Authentic, street-inspired Bombay comfort food
New Yorkers recently got a sneak peek at these exact dishes when executive chef Arun Kumar served a family-style preview menu at an October charity dinner for the Food Bank for NYC.
