There are some things we know for certain—true love exists, midnight margaritas are always a good idea, and a little magic is never hard to find in New York City.
While NYC’s sunniest season is practically coming to an end, summer still has a few tricks up its sleeve. One of them happens to be the final night of a beloved Coney Island tradition: the Boardwalk’s Friday night fireworks. But this weekend, the show won’t be just any ordinary farewell to summer.
Ahead of the highly anticipated Practical Magic 2, a little movie magic is taking over Deno’s Wonder Wheel Amusement Park for one spellbinding evening filled with tarot card readings, giveaways, photo opportunities, and, naturally, free Midnight Margaritas.
The first Practical Magic film follows sisters Sally and Gillian Owens as they navigate love, loss, family, and a centuries-old curse—all with a little help from their inherited magical abilities. Now, decades later, the story is getting a long-awaited continuation, and New Yorkers are being invited to celebrate before the sequel arrives.
🪄 A Practical Magic 2 celebration is taking over Coney Island
Consider this your official invitation to embrace your inner Owens sister.
On Friday, September 4, Practical Magic 2 is bringing a touch of witchcraft to Deno’s Wonder Wheel Amusement Park with a free, one-night-only pop-up.
From 6 pm to 10 pm, Coney Island will be filled with spellbinding surprises inspired by the upcoming sequel, including tarot card readings, giveaways, themed photo opportunities, and more.
Guests 21+ can also sip on complimentary Midnight Margaritas—because what would a Practical Magic celebration be without them?
Best of all, admission is completely free, so all you need to bring is your fellow witches and a willingness to believe in a little magic.
🎇 Stay for Coney Island’s final summer fireworks of the season
As if tarot cards and midnight margaritas weren’t enough, the event also coincides with the final night of Coney Island’s beloved Friday night summer fireworks.
After exploring the pop-up, visitors can head toward the Boardwalk and watch the sky light up at 9:45 pm for one final burst of summer magic.
Between the Wonder Wheel spinning nearby, fireworks over the ocean, and a little Practical Magic thrown into the mix, it may just be one of the most enchanting ways to say goodbye to summer in NYC.
