Yeah, yeah, yeah, it’s officially summer, but that doesn’t mean we have to say goodbye to soup–especially when it’s being paired with pizza!
Yes, you heard us right.
Brooklyn’s modern Japanese restaurant, Tonchin, has teamed up with Williamsburg pizza restaurant, Leo, for an absolutely irresistible collaboration–pizza ramen!
The soup combines signature flavors from both restaurants–Leo’s mouthwatering marinara sauce and sourdough pair seamlessly with Tonchin’s signature handmade noodles for what we’d like to refer to as a bowl of heaven.
The addition of Leo’s hot oil, basil, parmesan, pecorino, and finally a grissini stick to top it all off make for one bowl of noodles you’ll definitely want seconds of.
Available in both pork and vegetarian bases, the pork version of the dish uses Tonchin’s Tokyo tonkotsu broth along with crispy guanciale, while the vegetarian version is made with Tonchin veggie dashi broth and contains shiitake tomato confit.
Both bowls cost $22.
“Pizza Ramen is a dream collab with our dear dear friends at Leo. Tonchin’s mission has always been ‘From Tokyo to New York, With Love.’ This was our effort to blend iconic foods from both cities, honor our Japanese roots, and highlight a New York food staple. We think of this is the perfect embodiment of our love for both cultures.”
The Pizza Ramen is available exclusively at Tonchin Brooklyn (109 N 3rd Street), though only for a limited time–they don’t yet have a concrete end date but anticipate the collab running for a few more weeks.
And though you can only enjoy the Pizza Ramen for a limited time, you can immortalize the bowl of noodles forever with a super cute t-shirt!
Pro tip: word on the street is that the soup pairs perfectly with Tonchin’s Rockaway Brewing collab “Karaoke Kid Pale Ale!”
