Pete Davidson and Colin Jost’s famously puzzling 2022 purchase is finally making sense. Four years after buying a decommissioned Staten Island Ferry on a whim, the SNL stars are transforming it into a floating New York City comedy club for one night only.
On Thursday, September 17, the duo will host the “Snapple Island Ferry,” a free, 60-minute comedy show docked at Pier 17. Produced by the team behind The Stand Comedy Club, the event features sets from comedy’s fastest-rising stars, live hosting by Davidson and Jost, and snacks and drinks.
Turning the ferry into a floating comedy club with Snapple makes more sense than anything else we considered, and it still doesn’t make much sense. Either way, we’re giving people a chance to take a break, have a laugh and do something completely ridiculous with us. – Pete Davidson

“Snapple Island Ferry”: a one-night-only comedy event
When Davidson and Jost first bought the ferry back in 2022, they envisioned converting the vessel into a floating live entertainment, arts, and event space. Now, that dream is officially coming to life.
Partnering with Snapple to give New Yorkers an “unexpectedly refreshing break from the daily grind,” here’s what guests can expect aboard:
- Star-Studded Hosts: Live hosting sets from Pete Davidson and Colin Jost
- Surprise Lineup: Stand-up sets from comedy’s hottest rising stars (with the lineup revealed on Snapple’s social channels ahead of the show)
- Refreshments: Snapple beverages and snacks throughout the night
