Though it wasn’t quite within the timeline of NYC’s goal, the city has now distributed over 1,000,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses.
Mayor de Blasio just announced the news, on a day when there are 251 new hospitalizations, 3,587 new cases, and a 8.09% positivity rate (over a 7-day average) in the city.
We have administered more than ONE MILLION COVID-19 vaccine doses.
Imagine what we could do if we had the supply. We are in a CRISIS. Pharmaceutical companies need to step up, so we can save lives and get our nation back on track. pic.twitter.com/w1meN8WPos

Massive vaccine sites have already opened in places like the Javits Center, and are coming to arenas like CitiField and Yankee Stadium this week.
The Mayor has continually pointed to a need for an increased vaccine supply from the state and federal government to amp up distribution in NYC, as only about a week ago the city was in danger of completely running out.
Most recently, vaccine eligibility has opened for NY restaurant workers and taxi drivers. In order to schedule an appointment, visit VaccineFinder.nyc.gov.
