After a rough start to COVID-19 vaccine distribution, NYC now seems to be on a steady track of getting doses to as many New Yorkers as possible.
With 24/7 vaccine centers set up across the city, and “mega” sites like the Javits Center and CitiField up and running (or in the works), the city’s distribution has greatly increased.
As of today, April 5, over 4 million vaccines have been administered in NYC, with daily totals continuing to rise.
4.4 million! That’s how many #COVID19 vaccine doses we’ve administered citywide after a record breaking weekend. Join us at City Hall.

The Mayor created a previous goal of administering 1,000,000 vaccine doses by January, which has since been updated to a goal of 5,000,000 by June.
The vaccine is the most powerful tool we have in the fight against #COVID19. Last Friday we broke records with 100,669 reported doses in ONE DAY — and more than half a million last week alone. We could do this every week so long as we have the supply.https://t.co/VrfUhVRk1D

The vaccine recently became available to New Yorkers 30 and older, and will be available to New Yorkers 16+ by April 6 (see full list here).
You must make an appointment in order to receive the vaccine — there are no “walk-ins.” To find a location and make appointments for eligible New Yorkers, visit the NYC Gov. website here.
